In her pursuit to evade Bhairav Nath, Vaishnavi transformed herself into a fierce goddess, ultimately slaying the demon king. However, realizing the significance of Bhairav Nath’s devotion and sacrifice, she granted him a blessing promise that pilgrims would visit his shrine before reaching hers.

Discovery of the Holy Cave

After defeating Bhairav Nath, Vaishnavi continued her journey deeper into the mountains until she reached the Holy Cave, where she merged into the divine cosmic energy. It is believed that her divine presence set apart in the cave, which became the sacred place of Vaishno Devi.

Development of the Temple

Over the centuries, devotees began undertaking yatra to the Holy Cave, seeking the blessings of Vaishno Devi. The temple complex gradually developed around the cave, with various structures and facilities catering to tourists needs.
